Accuracy
We seek to publish information that is accurate, fairly presented, and supported by evidence. When facts are disputed, we identify the dispute rather than presenting uncertainty as certainty.
Sourcing
We identify sources whenever possible. Anonymous sourcing is reserved for circumstances in which the information is important, the source is in a position to know it, and disclosure could create a legitimate risk.
News and commentary
Reporting and commentary are labeled separately. Commentary may advance an argument, but it may not knowingly misstate facts.
Corrections
Material factual errors are corrected promptly and transparently. See our corrections policy.
